My Child has been Bullied or Assaulted by another Child/Youth - HELP

Assault is assault.   Sexual harassment is sexual harassment. Sexual assault is sexual assault, whether or not it occurred on school property. Bullying is often carried on by the same children/youths off the school property.

Report it to school officials and ask them questions to establish what they know and what's going on and what action they took.  Put it in writing and ask what the school is doing about it. Anything that would be a criminal offence off the school property is also a crime if committed on school property and should be reported to the police.

More will be added here to help you deal with these issues.

The criminal justice system in Canada is geared to helping get the perpetrator help and get them on the right track. The perpetrator may need a more structured, more disciplined school environment and may need to be kept away from other victims. The perpetrator may even be a victim of abuse by a parent or guardian and this can be identified more easily by professionals dealing with young criminals.
